Religious Education for Grade School and High School Children
The St. Joachim CCD program embraces the Catechetical Ministry of the Church to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ. In addition to weekly lessons on the gift of our Catholic Faith, grade school and high school children have the opportunity to participate in a variety of beautiful, sacred liturgies throughout the year. Throughout the liturgical year "Children's Mass" will take place on the 3rd Sunday of each month. We encourage our children to read the Word of God, help greet and usher parishioners, and bring up the gifts at this mass. We want our children to feel like part of the liturgy, knowing that Christ is calling them into faith.

First Communion & Reconciliation:
Students who are entering 2nd grade for the 2020-2021 year will prepare for their first communion and reconciliation. Two consecutive years of religious education is expected for these students in order to receive the Sacarments. In addition, it is important for children preparing for the sacraments to attend mass regularly so that they learn how to participate in the Celebration of the Eucharist. Mass attendance will be required for these children in order to successfully complete the program.
The sacrament of Confirmation is generally prepared for in the junior year of high school. Previous religious education in Catholic high school or our CCD program is expected. Classes for the 2020-2021 year will be announced in the coming months while registration is taking place. If you have a student that would like to register for Confirmation preparation please contact our office or visit our registration page here: St. Joachim Confirmation Classes
